Jordan Paul Sullivan is the creative director for Lantern Theatre’s “City of Dana” virtual theatre project. Sullivan studied for a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Chicago, after which he lived in China for six years, received his medical degree, and practiced medicine at the Zhejiang University Second Affiliated Hospital. Throughout his studies in medicine and biochemistry, he’d been involved in poetry circles, and started a literary magazine with a group of fellow expats in China. Sullivan’s background as a poet was in long-form persona poetry, and considered himself a student of Ezra Pound and William Carlos Williams, among other poets. When he transitioned to playwriting, he became a student of Shakespeare, Aristophanes and Stoppard.
